We Believe

At Mena First Assembly of God, we believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe in the One true God, who revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He further revealed Himself in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God as the Scriptures declare his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, the substitutional death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection followed by His ascension into heaven and His exaltation to the right hand of God.

​

We believe believe in the fall of man and his separation from God through sin, and that man's only hope of redemption is through the blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Salvation is through faith in Christ who died for our sins and was raised for our peace with God and victory in the life He gives. It is through the blood of Christ that we have redemption.

We believe in water baptism as commanded by the Scriptures.

We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an essential part of the Christian experience, designed to empower us for service and witness. We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance.

​

We believe in the great commission. Our primary vision is to become like Jesus in all that we say, do, and think.

We believe in divine healing as an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers.

​

We believe in the resurrection for those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the church.

We believe in the second coming of Christ which includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years.

​

We believe there will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to the everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

Finally, we believe in the new heavens and the new earth.
